Tzef Montana, who was abused by Dimitris Lignadis when she was underage and is currently a witness in the court proceedings, speaks up about the affair

"Toxic masculinity doesn't scare me. It just seems too simplistic", says Tzef Montana. She laughs. She laughs too when she recounts how, after studying arts management in London, getting a Master's degree in Los Angeles in communication, and working for some time in the music industry, she later managed Slayer, "the butchest men you can think of. And yet I did it just fine!" Yes. We laugh several times together in this interview which, thanks to our interviewee, manages to have a bright tone overall, even though it also goes through a very dark moment.
Exactly like Tzef's life up to this point. The beautiful, internationally famous, non-binary model with a fascinating career on the biggest catwalks, who has occupied the lens of the greatest photographers and the covers of the most influential fashion magazines of the world, was once a transgender child in the Greek countryside, who had to fight alone the battle for the personal acceptance of her identity.
But that's not why Tzef wanted to have this conversation with me. The reason is (also) the timeliness of the Lignadis Case, in which she is a witness, but not as a defense witness as some media have reported. No further clarification is needed.
Tzef says it all, coherently and straightforwardly, while speaking excellent Greek (as I point out to her). The fact that she is a model, beautiful and at the same time intelligent and cultured, is another stereotype that she breaks herself. Not the hardest one.
You were born in Corinth, you live between Los Angeles, Belgium and Athens. How difficult, but also how exciting, has your journey been to get here?
I was born in Corinth and from a young age I developed a strong sense of justice. Along the way I studied, entered the music industry, made my way around as a music manager, until I realised that I draw more strength and passion when I am active – always within the context of the artistic milieu – on issues related to the assertion of human rights. If you look a little bit at what I've done in my work, you'll see that I have demonstrated that in practice. Willingly or not, I have, since I was a young child, fought to serve my truth. But always with optimism, light and love.
This truth is not yours alone. It is a truth of the most progressive part of the world.
So, before anything else I want to say that, today, at 30, I am well psychologically, I am happy and I have found the strength needed to be able to speak openly about more traumatic past experiences. I "visit" them. They need to be "visited" in order to be able to deal with them, either with a therapist or alone. I've done it myself. Today I feel like I have conquered this territory. My soul is clear and most importantly I am not a victim. They have been trying to put me in the role of victim for as long as I can remember, but I resist. I am a warrior.
Why did they try to put you in the role of victim?
I didn't choose that role. I found myself in it. And that's why I am now forced to defend myself again and share details of my personal life. I have a responsibility. To restore, with my arguments, the truth we are discussing. It is true that LGBTQI people are not a majority in society. We are a minority and with all our contradictions, insecurities and peculiarities, we are worthy. We write WORTH with capital letters. And there is no better time than now to claim that "I AM WORTHY" in all caps.
One reason you wanted to do this interview is because your intentions were misunderstood during the legal development of the Lignadi case.
The main reason we're doing this interview is because I want to restore the truth and, basically, to ask the media to tell me from where they drew some of their conclusions that I am very unhappy with: I never stated that I would testify before the investigator as a defence witness for Dimitris Lignadis. I will therefore try to set the record straight, so that no suspicions or arbitrary conclusions are drawn. I had not opened my mouth and started talking when they began accusing me. With the first breath I took to start speaking I saw inaccurate and false allegations being reproduced in the media. This is why I have sent an out-of-court letter, through my lawyer, which in general terms states that "I, Tzef Montana, am on the list of witnesses that has been disclosed to the 19th investigating magistrate, who is handling the case of Dimitris Lignadis, on behalf of the lawyer of one of the accused actor's accusers." The lawyer is Yannis Vlachos. I pointed out to Tatiana Stefanidou's Tlife [editor's note: a TV show that is not considered high-quality journalism] reporter that everything I intend to testify, I will testify where my voice will be of substantial value. That is, before competent judicial bodies. I ask all those who claimed and published this lie (that I will testify as a defence witness) and distorted the truth to apologise, because they insulted my personality and everything I have done to date. I want them to acknowledge this because they should have been careful before defaming me and claiming something untrue which moreover is linked to a criminal case about a sensitive matter for public opinion and Greek society.
We have agreed that precisely because this is such a sensitive case, we will not ask you details of what you will say to the investigator or other details that would cause you pain.
Now that I am 30 years old, I have found a way to set my limits and I now know very well how to protect my feelings and my safety when I do not want to answer or when I do not feel comfortable. Let me point out something about one aspect of victim blaming, related to what I was saying before: when you make an effort in support of the goals of the MeToo movement and against social inequalities, it is very bad to suddenly be placed on the wrong side of history thanks to a claim that is based on a lie. I want the younger children, the ones I often meet who are now in their 20s and are victims of the same man, to understand what is happening to them. There is fear in them. Their sleep is affected, they live on psychotropic drugs. I want to be there, be strong, for these children. Because every time we look at each other and talk to each other, we say: "Yes, the same thing happened to me. He did the same thing to me." We're talking about the man who is now in prison. Whatever the courts say, we know. We see it in each other's eyes. And you know what? It's touching and beautiful because we give each other strength. And we, as the younger generation, have that strength in general, especially in comparison to some of the older generations of homosexuals like Dimitris Lignadis.
What do you mean?
I mean that he hated himself. He had an internalised hatred of himself. And what's surfaced now comes from that lack of self-acceptance. It's horrible. To a certain extent I experienced it myself, but fortunately I managed to escape from it.
You started out in a smaller town, within the context of the Greek countryside. How did you manage to make this journey to maturity and self-awareness?
I received a lot of love from my parents. That is, I had the supplies and tools to be able to shield my soul. But yes, being a transgender child in the countryside is an issue.
Where did you meet Lignadis?
At a performance I went to see as a spectator.
What did you experience later in your relationship with him?
Today I am able to understand that this man entangled me in a net of supposed protection, holding me hostage until recently.
What did he rely on to create this net as you said?
My fear. At the age of 16, I went to his house for the first time and it was there that he first attempted to move towards me with the clear intention of having sex. I did not want to have sex with him and I didn't. I don't find him attractive, and I never have. Even though I knew who I wanted to be – I felt like a woman – I just didn't like him. I feel that he took advantage of my difficult teenage years, exploiting the fears I had, justifiably at the time, about my sexuality, since as a transgender student in Greek countryside society during the 90s, I was well trained to repress any expression of my sexuality and my inner truth. I had to learn this by playing different roles in order to survive. In the end, no one else helped me break this net, only I could do that. But when I was younger, people like him took advantage of my fear.
How and why did he exploit it?
To manipulate me. He promised me, for example, that he would introduce me to celebrities of that era that he knew I admired. And he convinced me, just as he convinced me that he would protect me.
Was there a time when you had confidence in him?
Not exactly. I don't want to go into the details of his method. But no. He didn't gain my trust right away. But as I've already explained, I was living in a very oppressive situation.
But you were 16 years old. Any teenager of any sexual orientation could have reacted that way if someone told them what they wanted to hear.
And yet I would disagree about the "any sexual preference". Because a transgender child walking around in the square of a Greek province has been "trained" in systematic verbal violence and toxicity. So for me, being invisible was nothing new. But he, too, cultivated secrecy. He essentially took advantage of the condition I'm describing.
So the relationship with him, instead of helping you in your personal struggle, plunged you deeper into darkness?
For me, this truth was suffocating. It was something with which I had come into terrible conflict: with school principals, with my father, with many people. I was struggling to be able to breathe, to live, to move on and evolve in my life, which I finally succeeded in doing: today I have a full life, with many beautiful moments. But up to this point I fought, I fought because walls were going up. And Lignadis cultivated a condition of secrecy that ultimately served only himself. He did it so that he could create conditions for approaching other minors from my own circle and ensure their confidentiality as he did with me. I did not desire a sexual relationship with him. And no such thing emerged. But the sexual harassment I received from him, the insults, the violent behaviour, all very methodical and with him fully sober, aware and tactical, was ultimately the price I had to pay for a ride in the entertainment industry.
Was he using you to reach out to other people?
I realised this later. My travels, my life in Los Angeles, the more open-minded environments I found myself in, slowly caused my judgment and perception to change towards many subjects. That's how I became aware that I had been kidnapped. Lignadis back then kidnapped my soul. At that time I was neither able to understand what was happening to me, nor was I able to declare it to anyone. Later I also learned that he was involved with other children: I found others who confided similar stories to me. Today I consider this man a collector of souls. A person with completely different values to mine. I made a mistake and I take responsibility for it. My vanity was something I paid for. Him? The consequences of his own sins are judged by justice. His age, his knowledge, and his social status de facto created the conditions that enabled him to manipulate underage children. There can be no consent to sexual acts when such conditions of manipulation have been created. Even persons over 15 years of age, when involved in this kind of "network", are unable to consent freely.
Did you fall in love with him then?
There was nothing sexual or romantic on my part. I was innocent with friendly feelings. I could nevertheless recognise even then how he was unwell and how he carried the awareness of his homosexuality as a burden. In a society that covers up everything, however, I was not interested at the time in asserting my right. I was interested in surviving.
In retrospect, what harm do you think he did to you?
Relationships have a big impact on the course of our lives, so we have to be very careful to whom we open the door of our soul, or what I call "our inner garden". I did not consciously open the door to it. He broke it, entered my garden and plundered it. I had to rebuild everything from scratch in order to live in harmony. He practically made me believe that what I am is something horrible, deformed, unnatural, something I have to hide, but that he can plunder. He showed me this by his behaviour, by the burden he placed on me and the satisfaction he got from it. He dominated me.
The defence lawyer certainly has an obligation and a right to defend him, just as he, as the accused, has an obligation and a right to defend himself. But his lawyer is saying things that have outraged a lot of people: making homophobic comments, slut shaming. What do you have to say about that?
Who is this gentleman? Are you talking about Mr Kougias? I met him for the first time on New Year's Eve on one of Rouvas' programmes [editor's note: Sakis Rouvas a famous pop singer in Greece who sings cheerful songs]. I thought he seemed nice then. Maybe because he knew all of Rouvas' songs by heart and sang them. Or maybe because he loved Rouvas so much. As for his current rhetoric, it is the rhetoric of a patriarchal anachronism. We know these things. Slowly the progress will wash him out. I don't need to say anything else myself.
But there is a chance that you could be attacked in the same way. Are you prepared?
What attack? What can he say? That I'm part of the LGBTQI community? And what is he? Part-time heterosexual? Or what? I don't know about these things, and I don't understand them. What will he say? That I don't know Lignadis? But people know the truth very well. If he wants to throw stones at it, the stones will come bounce back to him.
We've talked enough about painful things. What have been the most positive moments in your life so far?
I draw strength from the tremendous love and resources I got from my mother. I also received love from my dad even though our relationship had its problematic moments. If we talk about the most important success though, it is that I can provide a similar love to young children who need it. I care about the lives of LGBTQI children in particular. I want them to be equipped with the tools to be able to live their lives the way they want to. I want to show them that the life model I follow exists. That's my greatest success. That I have managed to live as my authentic self and not in editorials, magazines or on TV, but in my everyday life, going to the grocery store or the supermarket for example. That I have my own close friends, my "Corinthian team", who I love and who love me (people who may work in the grape vineyard or in factories or are bank executives and it doesn't matter). That I have managed not to seek acceptance from anyone, but to accept myself. That is my greatest success. And it will be even bigger if I get other kids to accept themselves. I am addressing Dimitris as well. Why doesn't he say that he's gay and that he likes young boys? He can't even say that?
Now if you had an hour with him, what would you tell him?
I wouldn't give him an hour because he doesn't deserve it. I'd give him a minute to say: "It's OK to be gay - your problem is lusting after teenagers", hoping he'd have some remorse even now in prison, albeit belatedly. Maybe that will finally free him from the role of the victim with which he, alone, has poisoned himself.

"Lignadis Took Advantage of My Difficult Teenage Years"

Tzef Montana, modelo y activista, fue víctima de los abusos del actor y director griego Dimitris Lignadis cuando era menor de edad. Ahora es testigo en un proceso judicial que involucra a más jóvenes. Habla con recuerdos vivos, pero con la paz de quien ha salido adelante

"La masculinidad tóxica no me asusta. Me parece demasiado simplista", dice Tzef Montana. Se ríe. También lo hace cuando cuenta que, tras estudiar Gestión de las Artes en Londres, hacer un máster en Comunicación en Los Ángeles y trabajar en la industria musical, llegó a ser mánager de los rockeros Slayer, "los hombres más machos que os podáis imaginar". "Y, sin embargo, lo hice bien", dice. Son varias las veces que nos reímos juntos en esta entrevista que, gracias a Montana, consigue tener un tono brillante en general, a pesar de que también pasa por un momento muy oscuro.
Modelo no binaria y con fama internacional, Montana tiene una carrera fascinante en las mayores pasarelas. Ha ocupado el objetivo de los fotógrafos de mayor prestigio y las portadas de las revistas de moda más influyentes del mundo. Creció como niña trans en el campo griego, y tuvo que batallar en solitario por la aceptación de su identidad.
Pero no es por eso que ha querido hablar. El motivo también es la actualidad del caso Lignadis, del que es testigo, pero no de la defensa, como han informado algunos medios.
Montana lo explica todo de forma coherente y directa. Al final también rompe el estereotipo de modelo escultural e inteligente. Pero ese no es el más difícil.
Nació en Corinto y vive entre Los Ángeles, Bélgica y Atenas. ¿Qué tan difícil y emocionante ha sido ese viaje?
Nací en Corinto y desde muy joven desarrollé un fuerte sentido de la justicia. Por el camino estudié, entré en la industria musical y me abrí camino como mánager musical, hasta que me di cuenta de que sacaba más fuerza y pasión en temas relacionados con la reivindicación de los derechos humanos, siempre en el contexto del mundo artístico. Si observáis lo que he hecho en mi trabajo, veréis que lo he demostrado en la práctica. Lo haya querido o no, he luchado desde pequeña por servir a mi verdad, pero siempre con optimismo, luz y amor.
Esta verdad no es solo suya, sino del ala más progresista del mundo.
Antes de nada, quiero decir que hoy, a mis treinta años, estoy bien psicológicamente, soy feliz y he encontrado la fuerza necesaria para poder hablar de experiencias pasadas más traumáticas. Las visito. Es necesario hacerlo para poder afrontarlas, ya sea con un terapeuta o a solas. Yo también lo he hecho. Hoy siento que he conquistado este territorio. Mi alma está despejada y lo más importante es que no soy una víctima. Han intentado ponerme en el papel de víctima desde que tengo uso de razón, pero me resisto. Soy una persona guerrera.
¿Por qué han intentado ponerle en el papel de víctima?
No elegí ese papel. Me encontré en él. Por eso ahora me veo en la obligación de defenderme de nuevo y a compartir detalles de mi vida personal. Tengo la responsabilidad de restablecer con mis argumentos la verdad que discutimos. Es cierto que las personas LGTBIQ no somos mayoría en la sociedad. Somos una minoría y, con todas nuestras contradicciones, inseguridades y peculiaridades, somos dignos. Escribimos VALOR con mayúsculas. Y no hay mejor momento que este para reivindicar que "YO VALGO", con mayúsculas.
Una razón por la que ha accedido a esta entrevista es porque sus intenciones se malinterpretaron en el proceso del caso Lignadis.
La razón principal de esta entrevista es que quiero restablecer la verdad y pedirles a los medios de comunicación que me digan de dónde han sacado algunas conclusiones con las que estoy muy descontenta: nunca dije que fuera a declarar ante el investigador como testigo de la defensa de Dimitris Lignadis. Por lo tanto, intentaré aclarar las cosas para que no se saquen sospechas ni conclusiones arbitrarias. No había abierto la boca y empezado a hablar cuando empezaron a acusarme y a reproducir acusaciones inexactas y falsas. Por eso he enviado una carta extrajudicial a través de mi abogado en la que, en términos generales, se afirma que "yo, Tzef Montana, estoy en la lista de testigos que se ha dado a conocer al juez de instrucción número 19, que lleva el caso de Dimitris Lignadis, en nombre del abogado de uno de los acusadores del actor". El abogado es Yannis Vlachos. Señalé a la reportera Tatiana Stefanidou en el programa de televisión Tlife que declararía allí donde mi voz tuviera un valor sustancial. Es decir, ante los órganos judiciales competentes. Solicito a quienes afirmaron y publicaron esta mentira y distorsionaron la verdad que pidan disculpas, porque me insultaron a mí y a todo lo que he hecho hasta la fecha. Quiero que lo reconozcan porque deberían haber tenido cuidado antes de difamarme y afirmar algo falso, que además está vinculado a un caso penal sobre un asunto sensible para la opinión pública y la sociedad griega.
Hemos acordado que, por tratarse de un caso tan delicado, no le preguntaríamos detalles sobre lo que va a decir al investigador ni otros que le causarían dolor.
Ahora que tengo treinta años, he encontrado la manera de establecer mis límites y sé muy bien cómo proteger mis sentimientos y mi seguridad cuando no quiero responder o cuando no me siento cómoda. Permitidme señalar algo sobre la culpabilización de las víctimas, relacionado con lo que decía antes: cuando haces un esfuerzo para apoyar los objetivos del movimiento MeToo y contra las desigualdades sociales, es muy malo que de repente te coloquen en el lado equivocado de la historia por una afirmación basada en una mentira. Quiero que los más jóvenes, que me encuentro a menudo y que ahora tienen veinte años y son víctimas del mismo hombre, entiendan lo que les pasa. Hay miedo en ellos. Su sueño se ve afectado y viven a base de ansiolíticos. Quiero estar ahí y ser fuerte para estos niños. Porque cada vez que nos miramos y hablamos, decimos: "Sí, a mí me pasó lo mismo. Me hizo lo mismo". Hablamos del hombre que ahora está en prisión. Digan lo que digan los tribunales, lo sabemos. Lo vemos en los ojos del otro. ¿Y sabes qué? Es conmovedor y hermoso porque nos damos fuerza mutuamente. Y nosotros tenemos esa fuerza como generación más joven, sobre todo en comparación con algunas generaciones de homosexuales previas, como la de Dimitris Lignadis.
¿Qué quiere decir?
Quiero decir que se odiaba a sí mismo. Tenía un odio interiorizado hacia sí mismo, y lo que ha aflorado viene de esa falta de aceptación propia. Es horrible. Yo también lo experimenté hasta cierto punto, pero por fortuna logré escapar de ello.
Usted empezó en una ciudad pequeña del campo griego. ¿Cómo consiguió hacer este viaje hacia la madurez y el conocimiento propio?
Recibí mucho amor de mis padres. Es decir, tuve los insumos y herramientas para poder blindar mi alma. Pero sí, crecer en el campo siendo trans es un problema.
¿Dónde conoció a Lignadis?
En una función a la que fui como público.
¿Qué vivió después en su relación con él?
Hoy puedo entender que este hombre me metió en una red de supuesta protección y me mantuvo como rehén hasta hace poco.
¿En qué se basó para crear esta red?
En mi miedo. A los dieciséis años fui a su casa por primera vez, y allí intentó acercarse a mí con la clara intención de tener relaciones sexuales. Yo no quería tener sexo con él y no lo hice. Nunca lo he encontrado atractivo. Aunque sabía quién quería ser —me sentía mujer—, él no me gustaba. Siento que se aprovechó de mis años difíciles de adolescencia, explotó los miedos justificados que tenía sobre mi sexualidad en ese momento. Como estudiante trans en la sociedad rural griega durante los años noventa, estaba bien entrenada para reprimir cualquier expresión de mi sexualidad y mi verdad interior. Tuve que aprenderlo con diferentes papeles para sobrevivir. Al final, nadie más me ayudó a romper esta red, solo yo podía hacerlo. Pero cuando era más joven, gente como él se aprovechó de mi miedo.
¿Cómo y por qué lo explotaba?
Para manipularme. Me prometió, por ejemplo, que me presentaría a celebridades de la época que él sabía que yo admiraba. Y me convenció, igual que me convenció de que me protegería.
¿Hubo algún momento en el que confió en él?
No exactamente. No quiero entrar en los detalles de su método, pero no. No se ganó mi confianza de inmediato. Pero como ya he explicado, vivía en una situación muy opresiva.
Tenía dieciséis años. Un adolescente de cualquier orientación sexual podría haber reaccionado así si alguien le hubiera dicho lo que quería oír.
No estoy de acuerdo con lo de "cualquier orientación sexual", porque una menor trans que se pasea por la plaza de una provincia griega ha vivido violencia verbal sistemática y toxicidad. Para mí, ser invisible no era nada nuevo, pero él también cultivó el secretismo. Se aprovechó de la condición que describo.
¿La relación con él, en lugar de ayudarle en su lucha personal, le sumió más en la oscuridad?
Esta verdad era asfixiante para mí. Era algo con lo que había entrado en terrible conflicto: con los directores de la escuela, con mi padre, con mucha gente. Luchaba por poder respirar, por vivir, por seguir adelante y evolucionar en mi vida, cosa que al final conseguí: hoy tengo una vida plena, con muchos momentos hermosos. Pero hasta ese momento luché, luché porque los muros se levantaban. Lignadis cultivó una condición de secretismo que al final solo le sirvió a él. Lo hizo para poder crear condiciones para acercarse a otros menores de mi mismo círculo y asegurar su confidencialidad igual que conmigo. Yo no deseaba una relación sexual con él. Y no surgió. Pero su acoso sexual, los insultos, el comportamiento violento, todo muy metódico y con él totalmente sobrio, consciente y táctico, fue el precio que tuve que pagar por un paseo en la industria del entretenimiento.
¿Le utilizó Lignadis para llegar a otras personas?
Me di cuenta de eso más tarde. Mis viajes, mi vida en Los Ángeles, los ambientes más abiertos en los que me encontré, hicieron mi juicio y mi percepción hacia muchos temas cambiara poco a poco. Así me di cuenta de que había vivido un secuestro. Lignadis había secuestrado mi alma. No fui capaz de entender lo que me pasaba, ni de declararlo a nadie. Más tarde me enteré también de que estaba relacionado con otros menores que me confiaron historias similares. Hoy considero a este hombre un coleccionista de almas. Una persona con valores completamente diferentes a los míos. Cometí un error y asumo mi responsabilidad. Pagué por mi vanidad. ¿Y él? La justicia juzga las consecuencias de sus pecados. Su edad, sus conocimientos y su estatus social crearon de facto las condiciones que le permitieron manipular a menores de edad. No puede haber consentimiento para actos sexuales ante tales condiciones de manipulación. Incluso los mayores de quince años envueltos en este tipo de redes no pueden consentir con libertad.
¿Se enamoró entonces de él?
No hubo nada sexual ni romántico por mi parte. Yo era inocente con sentimientos amistosos. Ya entonces pude reconocer su malestar y cómo llevaba la conciencia de su homosexualidad como una carga. Sin embargo, en una sociedad que lo encubre todo, no me interesaba hacer valer mi derecho. Me interesaba sobrevivir.
En retrospectiva, ¿qué daño cree que le hizo?
Las relaciones tienen un gran impacto en el curso de nuestras vidas, así que tenemos que tener mucho cuidado con quién abrimos la puerta de nuestra alma, o lo que yo llamo "nuestro jardín interior". Yo no abrí la puerta a consciencia. Él la rompió, entró en mi jardín y lo saqueó. Tuve que reconstruir todo desde cero para poder vivir en armonía. Prácticamente me hizo creer que lo que soy es algo horrible, deforme, antinatural, algo que tengo que ocultar, pero que él puede saquear. Me lo demostró con su comportamiento, con la carga que me impuso y la satisfacción que obtuvo de ello. Me dominó.
El abogado defensor tiene la obligación y el derecho de defenderlo, al igual que él como acusado. Pero el abogado ha hecho comentarios homófobos o tildado de prostitutas a muchas personas, lo cual ha causado indignación... ¿Qué opina al respecto?
¿Quién? ¿Kougias? Lo conocí en Nochevieja en un programa del cantante pop griego Rouvas. Entonces me pareció simpático, quizá porque se sabía todas sus canciones de memoria y las cantaba o tal vez porque quería mucho a Rouvas. Su retórica actual es la de un anacronismo patriarcal. Ya sabemos de qué va. El progreso lo borrará poco a poco. No necesito decir nada más.
Pero también le puede atacar a usted de la misma manera. ¿Se siente con fuerzas?
¿Qué ataque? ¿Qué puede decir? ¿Que soy parte de la comunidad LGTBIQ? ¿Y qué es él? ¿Heterosexual a tiempo parcial? No sé de estas cosas y no las entiendo. ¿Qué dirá? ¿Que no conozco a Lignadis? La gente sabe muy bien la verdad. Si quiere tirarle piedras, las piedras le rebotarán.
Ya hemos hablado bastante de cosas dolorosas. ¿Cuáles han sido los momentos más positivos de su vida?
Saco fuerzas del tremendo amor y los recursos que recibí de mi madre. También recibí amor de mi padre, aunque nuestra relación tuvo sus momentos problemáticos. Pero si hablamos del éxito más importante, es que puedo darle un amor similar a los niños que lo necesitan. Me preocupan las vidas de los niños LGTBIQ en particular. Quiero que estén equipados con las herramientas para poder vivir sus vidas de la manera que quieran. Quiero mostrarles que mi modelo de vida existe. Ese es mi mayor éxito: he conseguido vivir como mi auténtico yo, y no en editoriales, revistas o en la televisión, sino en mi día a día, yendo a una tienda o al supermercado, por ejemplo. Tengo amigos íntimos, mi "equipo corintio", a los que quiero y que me quieren; personas que pueden trabajar en la viña o en fábricas o ser ejecutivos de bancos y no importa. He conseguido no buscar la aceptación de nadie, sino aceptarme a mí como persona. Ese es mi mayor éxito. Y será aún mayor si consigo que otros chicos se acepten. Me dirijo también a Dimitris: ¿por qué no dice que es gay y que le gustan los chicos jóvenes? ¿Ni siquiera puede decir eso?
Si tuviera una hora con él, ¿qué le diría?
No le daría una hora porque no se la merece. Le daría un minuto para decirle: "Está bien ser gay. Tu problema es desear a los adolescentes", con la esperanza de que tenga algún remordimiento incluso ahora en la cárcel, aunque sea tardío. Tal vez eso le libere por fin del papel de víctima con el que él mismo se ha envenenado.

"Lignadis se aprovechó de mi adolescencia difícil"

Tzef Montana fue víctima de abusos por el actor y director Dimitris Lignadis cuando era menor de edad. Ahora habla en medio del proceso judicial

Tzef Montana wurde als Minderjährige vom Theaterintendanten Dimitris Lignadis missbraucht. Sie ist eine der Zeuginnen im Gerichtsverfahren.

"Toxische Maskulinität macht mir keine Angst. Das wäre zu simpel", sagt Tzef Montana. Sie lacht. Sie lacht auch, wenn sie erzählt, wie sie nach ihrem Kunstmanagement-Studium in London, einem Master in Kommunikation in Los Angeles und einiger Zeit in der Musikindustrie später Slayer managte, "die härtesten Männer, die man sich vorstellen kann. Und trotzdem habe ich das ganz gut gemeistert!" Während des Interviews lachen wir mehrmals zusammen, was bestimmt auch mit dem heiteren Ton unserer Interviewpartnerin zusammenhängt – und auch, obwohl Schwieriges zur Sprache kommt.
Schwierige Momente gab es viele in Tzefs Leben. Das schöne, international berühmte, nicht-binäre Model mit einer außergewöhnlichen Karriere auf den größten Laufstegen, das mit den renommiertesten Fotografen zusammengearbeitet hat und auf den Covers der einflussreichsten Modemagazinen der Welt zu sehen war, war einst ein Transgender-Kind auf dem griechischen Land. Den Kampf um die persönliche Akzeptanz und die eigene Identität musste sie damals alleine ausfechten.
Das ist jedoch nicht der Grund für dieses Gespräch. Der eigentliche Grund des Interviews ist der Fall Lignadis, in dem sie als Zeugin auftritt, aber nicht als Zeugin der Verteidigung, wie einige Medien berichtet haben. Dies versteht sich von selbst.
Tzef erzählt alles, kohärent und geradlinig und eloquent. Man merkt sofort: Sie intelligent und kultiviert.&nbsp;
Sie wurden in Korinth geboren, Sie leben zwischen Los Angeles, Belgien und Athen. Wie schwierig, aber auch wie aufregend, war Ihr Weg hier her?
Ich wurde in Korinth geboren und entwickelte schon in jungen Jahren einen starken Gerechtigkeitssinn. Ich habe studiert, bin in die Musikindustrie eingestiegen und habe mich als Musikmanagerin durchgeschlagen, bis ich merkte, dass ich mehr Kraft schöpfe und mit mehr Herzblut bei der Sache bin, wenn ich mich – immer im Kontext des künstlerischen Milieus – für Menschenrechten engagiere. Wer sich ein wenig mit meiner Arbeit beschäftigt, merkt sofort, dass dies der Fall ist. Bewusst oder nicht, habe ich seit meiner Kindheit dafür gekämpft, für meine Wahrheit zu kämpfen. Aber immer mit Optimismus, Hoffnung und Liebe.
Diese Wahrheit ist nicht nur Ihre. Es ist eine Wahrheit des progressiven Teils der Welt.
Deshalb möchte ich vor allem sagen, dass es mir heute, mit 30 Jahren, psychisch gut geht. Ich bin glücklich und habe die Kraft gefunden, offen über traumatische Erlebnisse aus der Vergangenheit sprechen zu können. Ich beschäftige mich bewusst mit diesen Erfahrungen. Menschen brauchen dies, um das Erlebte – entweder alleine oder mit einem Therapeuten – zu verarbeiten. Ich habe es alleine getan. Heute habe ich das Gefühl, dass ich damit abgeschlossen habe. Meine Seele ist befreit und ich sehe mich nicht als Opfer. Man hat immer versucht, mich in die Rolle des Opfers zu stecken, aber ich lehne mich dagegen auf. Ich bin eine Kämpferin.
Warum hat man versucht, Sie in die Rolle des Opfers zu stecken?
Ich habe mir diese Rolle nicht ausgesucht. Ich wurde in sie hineingezwängt. Und deshalb muss ich mich nun verteidigen und Details aus meinem Privatleben erzählen. Ich trage Verantwortung. Verantwortung, mit meinen Argumenten die Wahrheit wiederherzustellen, über die wir sprechen. Es stimmt, dass LGBTQI-Menschen keine Mehrheit in der Gesellschaft sind. Wir sind eine Minderheit und wir sind wertvoll mit all unseren Widersprüchen, Unsicherheiten und Eigenheiten. Wir schreiben WERT mit Großbuchstaben. Und es gibt keinen besseren Zeitpunkt als jetzt, um in Großbuchstaben zu betonen: "ICH BIN WERTVOLL".
Ein Grund für dieses Interview, ist, dass Ihre Absichten im Fall Lignadi missverstanden wurden.
Der Hauptgrund für dieses Interview ist, dass ich einige Dinge richtigstellen möchte und die Medien bitte, mir zu sagen, wie sie zu einigen ihrer Schlussfolgerungen, mit denen ich sehr unglücklich bin, kamen: Ich habe nie erklärt, dass ich vor dem Ermittler als Verteidigungszeugin für Dimitris Lignadis aussagen würde. Ich werde daher versuchen, die Dinge richtigzustellen, damit keine Zweifel aufkommen oder willkürliche Schlussfolgerungen gezogen werden. Ich hatte angefangen zu sprechen, als sie schon anfingen, mich zu beschuldigen. Kaum fing ich an zu sprechen, sah ich, dass ungenaue und falsche Behauptungen in den Medien wiedergegeben wurden. Aus diesem Grund habe ich über meinen Anwalt einen außergerichtlichen Brief geschickt, in dem es ganz allgemein heißt: "Ich, Tzef Montana, stehe auf der Zeugenliste, die dem 19. Untersuchungsrichter, zuständig für den Fall Dimitris Lignadis, im Auftrag des Anwalts eines Anklägers vorgelegt wurde." Der Anwalt ist Yannis Vlachos. Ich wies den Reporter von Tatiana Stefanidou's Tlife [eine Fernsehsendung, die nicht als Qualitätsjournalismus gilt, Anm. d. Red.] darauf hin, dass ich dort aussagen werde, wo meine Stimme von erheblichem Wert sein wird. Also vor Gericht. Ich bitte alle, die diese Lüge, also dass ich als Zeugin der Verteidigung aussagen werde, in die Welt gesetzt und verbreitet haben, sich zu entschuldigen. Sie haben meine Persönlichkeit und meinen bisherigen Werdegang verunglimpft. Ich möchte, dass sie dies anerkennen. Sie hätten vorsichtig sein sollen, bevor sie mich verleumden und Unwahrheiten verbreiten, die zudem in Zusammenhang mit einem Strafverfahren zu einer sensiblen Angelegenheit für die öffentliche Meinung und die griechische Gesellschaft steht.
Gerade weil es sich um einen so sensiblen Fall handelt, fragen wir Sie nicht nach Details zu Aussagen gegenüber dem Ermittler oder anderen heiklen Themen.
Jetzt, mit 30 Jahren, habe ich gelernt, Grenzen zu setzen. Ich weiß jetzt sehr gut, wie ich meine Gefühle und mich selbst schützen kann, wenn ich nicht antworten möchte oder wenn ich mich nicht wohlfühle. Lassen Sie mich noch kurz zum Victim Blaming kommen: Wenn man sich für die Ziele der MeToo-Bewegung einsetzt und sich gegen soziale Ungleichheiten engagiert, ist es sehr schlimm, plötzlich auf die falsche Seite der Geschichte gestellt zu werden. Und alles wegen einer Lüge. Ich möchte, dass die jüngeren Kinder, die jetzt in ihren 20ern sind und Opfer desselben Mannes wurden, verstehen, was mit ihnen geschieht. Sie haben Angst. Sie leiden unter Schlafproblemen, nehmen Psychopharmaka ein. Ich möchte diese jungen Menschen unterstützen. Denn wenn wir miteinander sprechen, wird uns immer wieder bewusst: Mir ist das Gleiche passiert. Er hat das Gleiche mit mir gemacht. Wir sprechen von dem Mann, der jetzt im Gefängnis sitzt. Was auch immer die Gerichte entscheiden, wir wissen, was passiert ist. Wir sehen es den anderen an. Und es ist auf eine gewisse Art und Weise rührend und schön, weil wir uns gegenseitig Kraft geben. Wir, als jüngere Generation, sind stark, besonders im Vergleich zu einigen der älteren Generationen von Homosexuellen wie Dimitris Lignadis.
Wie meinen Sie das?
Dieser Mann hat sich selbst gehasst. Und was jetzt aufgetaucht ist, ist auf diesen Mangel an Selbstakzeptanz zurückzuführen. Es ist furchtbar. Bis zu einem gewissen Grad ging es mir selbst so, aber zum Glück habe ich es geschafft, dem zu entkommen.
Sie haben in einer kleineren Stadt angefangen, auf dem Land in Griechenland. Wie haben Sie es geschafft, so reif und selbstbewusst zu werden?
Ich habe viel Liebe von meinen Eltern bekommen. Ich war vorbereitet, habe gelernt, mich selbst zu schützen. Aber ja, ein Transgender-Kind auf dem Land zu sein, ist nicht einfach.
Wo haben Sie Lignadis kennengelernt?
Bei einer Aufführung, die ich als Zuschauerin besuchte.
Was haben Sie später in Ihrer Beziehung zu ihm erlebt?
Heute kann ich verstehen, dass dieser Mann mich in ein Netz des vermeintlichen Schutzes verstrickt hat und mich bis vor kurzem als Geisel hielt.
Worauf hat er sich gestützt, um dieses Netz aufzubauen, wie Sie sagten?
Auf meine Angst. Mit 16 Jahren war ich zum ersten Mal bei ihm. Damals versuchte er zum ersten Mal, sich mir zu nähern. Seine Absicht war mehr als deutlich. Ich wollte nicht mit ihm schlafen und tat es auch nicht. Ich finde ihn nicht attraktiv. Obwohl ich wusste, wer ich sein wollte – ich fühlte mich als Frau – mochte ich ihn einfach nicht. Ich habe das Gefühl, dass er meine schwierigen Teenagerjahre ausgenutzt hat. Er nutzte Ängste aus, die ich – damals zu Recht – wegen meiner Sexualität hatte. Als transsexuelle Studentin im ländlichen Griechenland der 90er-Jahre habe ich gelernt, jeden Ausdruck meiner Sexualität zu unterdrücken. Ich musste dies lernen, indem ich in verschiedene Rollen schlüpfte, um zu überleben. Letztendlich hat mir niemand sonst geholfen, dieses Netz zu durchbrechen, das konnte nur ich selbst tun. Aber als ich jünger war, haben Leute wie er meine Angst ausgenutzt.
Wie und warum hat er sie ausgenutzt?
Um mich zu manipulieren. Er versprach mir zum Beispiel, dass er mich mit Berühmtheiten bekannt machen würde, von denen er wusste, dass ich sie bewunderte. Und er überzeugte mich, genauso wie er mich überzeugte, dass er mich beschützen würde.
Gab es eine Zeit, in der Sie Vertrauen zu ihm hatten?
Nicht wirklich. Ich möchte nicht in die Details seiner Methode gehen. Aber nein. Er hat mein Vertrauen nicht sofort gewonnen. Wie bereits erklärt, lebte ich in einer sehr bedrückenden Situation.
Aber Sie waren 16 Jahre alt. Jeder Teenager, egal welcher sexuellen Orientierung, hätte so reagieren können, wenn ihm jemand gesagt hätte, was er hören wollte.
Ich glaube, dass die sexuelle Orientierung sehr wohl eine Rolle spielt. Ein Transgender-Kind, das auf dem Platz einer griechischen Provinz herumläuft, kennt systematische verbale Gewalt nur zu gut. Für mich war es also nichts Neues, unsichtbar zu sein. Aber auch hatte viele Geheimnisse. Er nutzte meine Situation aus.
Die Beziehung zu ihm hat Sie also, anstatt Ihnen in Ihrem persönlichen Kampf zu helfen, tiefer in die Dunkelheit gestürzt?
Für mich war dieses Geheimnis erdrückend. Durch sie geriet ich in schreckliche Konflikte: mit Schulleitern, mit meinem Vater, mit vielen Menschen. Ich kämpfte, um weiterzuleben und mich weiterzuentwickeln, was mir schließlich gelang: Heute habe ich ein erfülltes Leben, mit vielen schönen Momenten. Aber bis zu diesem Punkt habe ich gekämpft. Dabei bin ich auf viele Hindernisse gestoßen. Und Lignadis kultivierte einen Zustand der Geheimhaltung, der letztlich nur ihm selbst diente. Er wollte Bedingungen schaffen, um sich anderen Minderjährigen aus meinem Umfeld zu nähern und ihr Vertrauen zu gewinnen, wie er es mit mir tat. Ich wollte keine sexuelle Beziehung mit ihm. Und so etwas kam auch nicht zustande. Aber die sexuelle Belästigung, die Beleidigungen, das gewalttätige Verhalten hatten Methode. Er wusste genau, was er tat. Das war der Preis, den ich für den Zugang zur Unterhaltungsindustrie zahlen musste.
Hat er Sie benutzt, um an andere Menschen heranzukommen?
Das wurde mir erst später klar. Meine Reisen, mein Leben in Los Angeles, die offeneren Umgebungen, in denen ich mich befand, führten langsam dazu, dass sich mein Urteilsvermögen und meine Wahrnehmung gegenüber vielen Themen veränderten. So wurde mir bewusst, dass ich gekidnappt worden war. Lignadis hat damals meine Seele gekidnappt. Damals war ich weder in der Lage zu verstehen, was mit mir geschah, noch war ich in der Lage, es jemandem zu erklären. Später erfuhr ich, dass er auch andere Kinder missbraucht hatte. Heute betrachte ich diesen Mann als einen Seelensammler. Ein Mensch mit völlig anderen Werten als den meinen. Ich habe einen Fehler gemacht, und ich übernehme die Verantwortung dafür. Für meine Eitelkeit habe ich bezahlt. Über ihn wird jetzt die Justiz entscheiden. Sein Alter, sein Wissen und sein sozialer Status waren offensichtlich Faktoren, die es ihm ermöglichten, minderjährige Kinder zu manipulieren. Zustimmung zu sexuellen Handlungen sind nicht möglich, wenn Manipulation im Spiel ist. Auch über 15-Jährige, die in ein solches "Netzwerk" eingebunden sind, sind nicht in der Lage, frei einzuwilligen.
Haben Sie sich damals in ihn verliebt?
Da war nichts Sexuelles oder Romantisches von meiner Seite. Ich hatte unschuldige, freundschaftliche Gefühlen. Dennoch konnte ich schon damals erkennen, wie schlecht es ihm ging und welche Last seine Homosexualität für ihn bedeutete. In einer Gesellschaft, die alles vertuscht, war ich damals aber nicht daran interessiert, mein Recht einzufordern. Ich war daran interessiert, zu überleben.
Was glauben Sie rückblickend, was er Ihnen angetan hat?
Beziehungen haben einen großen Einfluss auf den Verlauf unseres Lebens, deshalb müssen wir sehr vorsichtig sein, wem wir die Tür zu unserer Seele öffnen, oder was ich "unseren inneren Garten" nenne. Ich habe ihm die Tür nicht bewusst geöffnet. Er brach sie auf, betrat meinen Garten und verwüstete ihn. Ich musste alles von Grund auf neu aufbauen, um in Harmonie leben zu können. Er bläute mir ein, etwas Schreckliches, Deformiertes, Unnatürliches zu sein, etwas, das ich verstecken müsse. Er zeigte mir das durch sein Verhalten, durch die Last, die er mir auferlegte und die Befriedigung, die er daraus zog. Er kontrollierte mich.
Der Verteidiger hat sicherlich die Pflicht und das Recht, ihn zu verteidigen, so wie er als Angeklagter die Pflicht und das Recht hat, sich zu verteidigen. Aber sein Anwalt sagt Dinge, die viele Menschen empört haben: homophobe Kommentare, Slut Shaming. Was haben Sie dazu zu sagen?
Sprechen Sie von Herrn Kougias? Ich habe ihn zum ersten Mal in der Silvesternacht in einer von Rouvas' Sendungen getroffen [Sakis Rouvas ein bekannter Popsänger in Griechenland, Anm. d. Red.]. Ich fand ihn damals sehr nett. Vielleicht, weil er alle Lieder von Rouvas auswendig kannte und sie sang. Oder vielleicht, weil er Rouvas so sehr liebte. Was seine aktuelle Rhetorik betrifft, so ist es die Rhetorik eines patriarchalen Anachronismus. Wir kennen das. Letzten Endes wird der Fortschritt sich durchsetzen.
Aber es besteht die Möglichkeit, dass Sie auf die gleiche Weise angegriffen werden. Sind Sie darauf vorbereitet?
Was für ein Angriff? Was kann er sagen? Dass ich Teil der LGBTQI-Community bin? Und was ist er? Ein Teilzeit-Heterosexueller? Ich weiß nichts von diesen Dingen und ich verstehe sie nicht. Was wird er sagen? Dass ich Lignadis nicht kenne? Die Leute wissen ganz gut Bescheid. Wenn er meint, angreifen zu müssen, wird sich das ganz schnell rächen.
Wir haben genug über schmerzhafte Dinge gesprochen. Was waren bisher die schönsten Momente in Ihrem Leben?
Ich schöpfe Kraft aus der enormen Liebe und den Ressourcen, die ich von meiner Mutter bekam. Auch von meinem Vater erhielt ich Liebe, obwohl unsere Beziehung mitunter auch problematisch war. Was meinen wichtigsten Erfolg angeht, dann stellt dies mit Sicherheit die Unterstützung dar, die ich jungen Menschen geben kann. Mir liegt das Leben von LGBTQI-Kindern im Besonderen am Herzen. Ich möchte, dass sie mit den Werkzeugen ausgestattet werden, um ihr Leben so leben zu können, wie sie es wollen. Ich möchte ihnen zeigen, dass das Lebensmodell, dem ich folge, existiert. Das ist mein größter Erfolg. Dass ich es geschafft habe, als mein authentisches Ich zu leben, und zwar nicht in Leitartikeln, Magazinen oder im Fernsehen, sondern in meinem Alltag, wenn ich zum Beispiel in den Lebensmittelladen oder in den Supermarkt gehe. Dass ich meine eigenen engen Freunde habe, mein "korinthisches Team", das ich liebe und das mich liebt (Menschen, die vielleicht im Weinberg oder in Fabriken arbeiten oder Bankvorstände sind – es spielt keine Rolle). Dass ich es geschafft habe, nicht die Akzeptanz von irgendjemandem zu suchen, sondern mich selbst zu akzeptieren. Das ist mein größter Erfolg. Und er wird noch größer sein, wenn ich andere Kinder dazu bringe, sich selbst zu akzeptieren. Ich wende mich auch an Dimitris. Warum sagt er nicht, dass er schwul ist und dass er auf kleine Jungs steht? Kann er nicht mal das sagen?
Wenn du jetzt eine Stunde Zeit mit ihm hättest, was würdest du ihm sagen?
Ich würde ihm keine Stunde geben, weil er es nicht verdient hat. Ich würde ihm eine Minute geben, um zu sagen: Es ist okay, schwul zu sein – dein Problem ist, dass du auf Teenager stehst. In der Hoffnung, dass er jetzt im Gefängnis, wenn auch verspätet, etwas Reue zeigt. Vielleicht befreit ihn das endlich aus der Opferrolle, mit der er sich selbst vergiftet hat.

Dokładnie tak samo, jak życie Tzef do tej pory. Piękna, znana na całym świecie, niebinarna modelka, która zrobiła fascynującą karierę na największych wybiegach, znalazła się w obiektywie największych fotografów i na okładkach najbardziej wpływowych magazynów mody na świecie, była kiedyś transgenderowym dzieckiem na greckiej wsi, które musiało samotnie stoczyć walkę o akceptację swojej tożsamości [Tzef Montana jest osobą niebinarną posługującą się zaimkiem "they" w języku angielskim oraz żeńskimi zaimkami w języku greckim - red.].
Jednak Tzef chciała odbyć ze mną tę rozmowę z innego powodu. Impulsem dla tego wywiadu jest (również) aktualność sprawy Lignadisa, w której jest ona świadkiem, ale nie świadkiem po stronie obrony, jak podały niektóre media. Dalsze wyjaśnienia nie są potrzebne.
Tzef mówi wszystko, w sposób spójny i prosty, a przy tym świetnie posługuje się greką (na co zwracam jej uwagę). Będąc jednocześnie piękną modelką oraz inteligentną i kulturalną osobą łamie kolejny stereotyp. Nie ten największy.&nbsp;
Urodziłaś się w Koryncie, łączysz życie między Los Angeles, Belgią i Atenami. Co w twojej drodze by dostać się do tego punktu było trudne, a co ekscytujące?
Urodziłam się w Koryncie i od najmłodszych lat miałam silne poczucie sprawiedliwości. Po drodze studiowałam, rozpoczęłam pracę w przemyśle muzycznym, dorabiałam jako menedżer muzyczny, aż zdałam sobie sprawę, że więcej siły i pasji czerpię z działalności – zawsze w kontekście środowiska artystycznego – w kwestiach związanych z dochodzeniem praw człowieka. Jeśli przyjrzycie się trochę temu, co robię w swojej pracy, zobaczycie, że pokazałam to w praktyce. Chcąc czy nie chcąc, od małego dziecka walczyłam o to, by służyć swojej prawdzie. Ale zawsze z optymizmem, światłem i miłością.
Ta prawda nie jest tylko twoja. Jest to prawda najbardziej postępowej części świata.
Zanim powiem cokolwiek innego, chcę powiedzieć, że dziś, w wieku 30 lat, czuję się dobrze psychicznie, jestem szczęśliwa i znalazłam siłę potrzebną do tego, by móc otwarcie mówić o bardziej traumatycznych doświadczeniach z przeszłości. À l'âge de 16 ans, je suis allée chez lui pour la première fois et c'est là qu'il a tenté pour la première fois de s'approcher de moi avec l'intention manifeste d'avoir des relations sexuelles. Je ne voulais pas avoir de relations sexuelles avec lui et je ne l'ai pas fait. Je ne l'ai jamais trouvé attirant. Même si je savais qui je voulais être - je me sentais femme - je ne l'aimais tout simplement pas. J'ai l'impression qu'il a profité de mon adolescence difficile, en exploitant les craintes que j'avais, à juste titre à l'époque, au sujet de ma sexualité, car en tant qu'étudiante transgenre dans la société rurale grecque des années 1990, j'étais bien entraînée à réprimer toute expression de ma sexualité et de ma vérité intérieure. J'ai dû apprendre cela en jouant différents rôles afin de survivre. En fin de compte, personne d'autre ne m'a aidé à briser ce filet, je suis le seul à pouvoir le faire. Mais quand j'étais plus jeune, des gens comme lui ont profité de ma peur.
Comment et pourquoi l'a-t-il exploitée ?
Pour me manipuler. Il m'a promis, par exemple, qu'il me présenterait des célébrités de l'époque qu'il savait que j'admirais. Et il m'a convaincue, tout comme il m'a convaincue qu'il me protégerait.
Y a-t-il eu un moment où vous avez eu confiance en lui ?
Pas exactement. Je ne veux pas entrer dans les détails de sa méthode. Mais non. Il n'a pas gagné ma confiance tout de suite. Mais comme je l'ai déjà expliqué, je vivais dans une situation très oppressante.
Mais vous aviez 16 ans. N'importe quel adolescent, quelle que soit son orientation sexuelle, aurait pu réagir de la sorte si quelqu'un lui avait dit ce qu'il voulait entendre.
Et pourtant, je ne suis pas d'accord sur le « toute préférence sexuelle ». Parce qu'un enfant transgenre qui se promène sur la place d'une province grecque a été « formé » à la violence verbale systématique et à la toxicité. Donc pour moi, être invisible n'était pas nouveau. Mais lui aussi cultivait le secret. Il a essentiellement profité de la condition que je décris.
Donc la relation avec lui, au lieu de vous aider dans votre combat personnel, vous a plongée plus profondément dans les ténèbres ?
Pour moi, cette vérité était étouffante. C'était une chose avec laquelle j'étais entré dans un conflit terrible : avec les directeurs d'école, avec mon père, avec beaucoup de gens. Je luttais pour pouvoir respirer, vivre, avancer et évoluer dans ma vie, ce que j'ai finalement réussi à faire. Aujourd'hui, j'ai une vie bien remplie, avec beaucoup de beaux moments. Mais jusque-là, je me suis battue, je me suis battue parce que les murs se dressaient. Et Lignadis a cultivé une condition de secret qui n'a finalement servi que lui-même. Il l'a fait pour pouvoir créer les conditions pour approcher d'autres mineurs de mon entourage et assurer leur confidentialité comme il l'a fait avec moi. Je ne souhaitais pas avoir de relation sexuelle avec lui. Et rien de tel ne s'est produit. Mais le harcèlement sexuel que j'ai subi de sa part, les insultes, les comportements violents, le tout très méthodique et avec lui en pleine sobriété, conscient et tactique, était finalement le prix à payer pour un tour dans l'industrie du divertissement.
Se servait-il de vous pour atteindre d'autres personnes ?
Je m'en suis rendue compte plus tard. Mes voyages, ma vie à Los Angeles, les environnements plus ouverts dans lesquels je me trouvais, ont lentement fait évoluer mon jugement et ma perception sur de nombreux sujets. C'est ainsi que j'ai pris conscience que j'avais été kidnappée. Lignadis a alors kidnappé mon âme. À cette époque, je n'étais ni capable de comprendre ce qui m'arrivait, ni de le déclarer à qui que ce soit. Plus tard, j'ai également appris qu'il avait des relations avec d'autres enfants. J'en ai trouvé d'autres qui m'ont confié des histoires similaires. Aujourd'hui, je considère cet homme comme un collectionneur d'âmes. Une personne aux valeurs complètement différentes des miennes. J'ai fait une erreur et j'en assume la responsabilité. J'ai payé pour ma vanité. Lui ? Les conséquences de ses propres péchés sont jugées par la justice. Son âge, ses connaissances et son statut social ont de facto créé les conditions qui lui ont permis de manipuler des enfants mineurs. Il ne peut y avoir de consentement à des actes sexuels lorsque de telles conditions de manipulation ont été créées. Même les personnes âgées de plus de 15 ans, lorsqu'elles sont impliquées dans ce type de « réseau », sont incapables de consentir librement.
Êtes-vous tombée amoureuse de lui à l'époque ?
Il n'y avait rien de sexuel ou de romantique de ma part. J'étais innocente, avec des sentiments amicaux. Je pouvais néanmoins reconnaître, même à l'époque, combien il était malade et combien il portait la conscience de son homosexualité comme un fardeau. Mais dans une société qui dissimule tout, je n'étais pas intéressée à l'époque à faire valoir mon droit. Ce qui m'intéressait, c'était de survivre.
Rétrospectivement, quel mal pensez-vous qu'il vous a fait ?
Les relations ont un impact important sur le cours de notre vie, nous devons donc faire très attention à qui nous ouvrons la porte de notre âme, ou ce que j'appelle « notre jardin intérieur ». Je n'ai pas consciemment ouvert la porte de ce jardin. Il l'a cassée, est entré dans mon jardin et l'a pillé. J'ai dû tout reconstruire à partir de zéro pour pouvoir vivre en harmonie. Il m'a pratiquement fait croire que ce que je suis est quelque chose d'horrible, de difforme, de contre nature, quelque chose que je dois cacher, mais qu'il peut piller. Il me l'a montré par son comportement, par le fardeau qu'il m'imposait et la satisfaction qu'il en retirait. Il m'a dominée.
L'avocat de la défense a certainement l'obligation et le droit de le défendre, tout comme lui, en tant qu'accusé, a l'obligation et le droit de se défendre lui-même. Mais son avocat tient des propos qui ont scandalisé beaucoup de gens : il fait des commentaires homophobes et insultants. Qu'avez-vous à dire à ce sujet ?
Qui est ce monsieur ? Vous parlez de M. Kougias ? Je l'ai rencontré pour la première fois la veille du Nouvel An dans l'une des émissions de Rouvas (Sakis Rouvas, célèbre chanteur pop grec qui interprète des chansons joyeuses, ndlr). Je l'ai trouvé sympathique à l'époque. Peut-être parce qu'il connaissait toutes les chansons de Rouvas par cœur et les chantait. Ou peut-être parce qu'il aimait tellement Rouvas. Quant à sa rhétorique actuelle, c'est la rhétorique d'un anachronisme patriarcal. Nous connaissons ces choses. Lentement, le progrès l'effacera. Je n'ai pas besoin d'en dire plus moi-même.
Mais il y a une chance que vous puissiez être attaquée de la même manière. Êtes-vous préparée ?
Quelle attaque ? Que peut-il dire ? Que je fais partie de la communauté LGBTQI ? Et qu'est-ce qu'il est ? Un hétérosexuel à temps partiel ? Ou quoi ? Je ne connais pas ces choses, et je ne les comprends pas. Qu'est-ce qu'il va dire ? Que je ne connais pas Lignadis ? Mais les gens connaissent très bien la vérité. S'il veut lui jeter des pierres, les pierres lui rebondiront dessus.
Nous avons assez parlé de choses douloureuses. Quels ont été les moments les plus positifs de votre vie jusqu'à présent ?
Je tire ma force de l'amour et des ressources considérables que j'ai reçus de ma mère. J'ai également reçu de l'amour de mon père, même si notre relation a connu des moments problématiques. Mais si nous parlons de la réussite la plus importante, c'est que je peux offrir un amour similaire aux jeunes enfants qui en ont besoin. Je me soucie de la vie des enfants LGBTQI en particulier. Je veux qu'ils soient équipés des outils nécessaires pour pouvoir vivre leur vie comme ils le souhaitent. Je veux leur montrer que le modèle de vie que je suis existe. C'est ma plus grande réussite. J'ai réussi à vivre de manière authentique, non pas dans des éditoriaux, des magazines ou à la télévision, mais dans ma vie quotidienne, en allant à l'épicerie ou au supermarché par exemple. Que j'ai mes amis proches, mon « équipe de Corinthe », que j'aime et qui m'aiment (des gens qui peuvent travailler dans le vignoble ou dans des usines ou être des cadres de banque et cela n'a pas d'importance). Que j'ai réussi à ne pas chercher à être acceptée par qui que ce soit, mais à m'accepter moi-même. C'est ma plus grande réussite. Et elle sera encore plus grande si j'arrive à ce que d'autres enfants s'acceptent eux-mêmes. Je m'adresse aussi à Dimitris. Pourquoi ne dit-il pas qu'il est gay et qu'il aime les jeunes garçons ? Il ne peut même pas le dire ?
Maintenant, si tu avais une heure avec lui, que lui dirais-tu ?
Je ne lui donnerais pas une heure parce qu'il ne la mérite pas. Je lui donnerais une minute pour lui dire : « C'est normal d'être gay - ton problème, c'est de convoiter les adolescents », en espérant qu'il ait des remords même maintenant en prison, bien que tardivement. Peut-être que cela le libérera enfin du rôle de victime dans lequel il s'est enfermé tout seul.
