The success of migration policy is doubtful

Five years have passed since Angela Merkel's famous "We can do this!" and her controversial decision to open the borders to a wave of migrants coming to Europe. The pandemic and the new emotions it stirred up overshadowed the political and cultural debate on the significance of those events, but it has not invalidated the consequences of what had happened back then

Marek Cichocki is a philosopher, political scientist and expert in Polish-German relations. He is the co-founder of the journal "Teologia Polityczna", program director at the European Center in Natolin and editor-in-chief of the magazine "Nowa Europa. Natolin Review”. He is also an associate professor at Collegium Civitas (specializes in the history of ideas and political philosophy).
