Kremlowi darowano, że zleca morderstwa w kluczowych krajach Zachodu. Darowano morderczy spektakl z użyciem broni chemicznej, którego pozytywna część - zmartwychwstanie Nawalnego - rozegrała się w Berlinie, stolicy najważniejszego państwa Unii Europejskiej i to w czasie, gdy Niemcy przewodziły wspólnocie.
Rosyjskie służby chciały w lecie zeszłego roku zabić Nawalnego i prawie im się to udało - tylko zwolennicy teorii spiskowych, nieszanowani w elitach zachodnich, mogą twierdzić, że to nieprawda. Polityk najważniejszej niemieckiej partii, który mówił, że cała dotychczasowa, czyli łagodna, polityka wobec Rosji była błędem i trzeba ją zmienić, przegrał właśnie wybory o przywództwo w CDU. On mówił, że trzeba wreszcie skończyć z napychaniem kremlowskich kieszeni pieniędzmi zyskiwanymi dzięki gazociągowi do Niemiec, zerwać ze wspieraniem rosyjskich interesów, bo one są sprzeczne z interesami Zachodu. Nie będzie miał szansy, by to choćby spróbować wprowadzić w życie.
Po lekkim krygowaniu się władze najważniejszego kraju UE wydały zezwolenie na wznowienie budowy Nord Stream 2. Ostatni argument, który mógł zrobić wrażenie na Kremlu - utrata wielkich finansów potrzebnych do realizacji celów niezgodnych z głoszonymi przez Zachód wartościami, został porzucony. Kreml zrozumiał doskonale: z Nawalnym może zrobić, co będzie chciał. Lepiej nie teraz, bo trwa licytacja na wyrażanie oburzenia. No i jest lepiej nie teraz, bo pozostało jeszcze trochę rur do ułożenia.
Jak skończymy budowę i zwiążemy się kolejnymi miliardowymi interesami na długie lata, to wtedy wreszcie powiemy Putinowi wprost: następnym razem to się pan naprawdę może doigrać!

Co zrobi Kreml, gdy skończy się publicystyczny wyścig o to, kto wyrazi większe oburzenie z powodu zatrzymania najważniejszego opozycjonisty w Rosji?

The way Kremlin now treats Alexei Navalny is important. But more important is what happens to him once the contest in western journalism – over who expresses the greatest outrage at the detention of Russia's most important oppositionist – is over

This is a contest consisting of shouting as bluntly as possible that Putin – the KGB guy, the evil tsar, and whatever other insults the emotions can muster – has crossed all boundaries and cannot be forgiven.
But he has been forgiven for everything so far and there is no reason to believe that this time it will be different. He just needs to wait, to put up with the noise for a bit. The Kremlin was forgiven for commissioning murders in the crucial western countries. It was forgiven for the murderous spectacle involving the use of chemical weapons, even though the positive part of it – the resurrection of Navalny – took place in Berlin, the capital of the most important country in the European Union, at a time when Germany was leading the community.
Russian services wanted to kill Navalny last summer, and almost succeeded at it. Only conspiracy theorists, usually disrespected by the western elite, can still claim that this is not true. That it cannot be true, because, after all, our partner, the Kremlin, would not decide to do the unimaginable: the physical liquidation of a major political opponent. The attempt to poison Navalny with novichok was proved by the research conducted by the best European specialists. It was backed up by science, which is praised so highly in the current era of the pandemic. So what now? After a temporary outrage: nothing.
A politician of the CDU, who declared that past policy of being benign towards Russia was a mistake (and thus should be changed), has just lost the election for the leadership of the most important German party. He claimed that we should finally stop stuffing Kremlin's pockets with money gained from the gas pipeline leading to Germany and stop supporting Russian interests, because they are contrary to the interests of the west. But he will not have the chance to even try to put this into practice.
The last argument that could have made an impression on the Kremlin – the loss of large amounts of money needed to pursue goals incompatible with western values – has been abandoned. The Kremlin understands this perfectly: it can do whatever it wants with Navalny. But it is better not to do it now, because the contest of outrage is being performed. And it is better to wait while there are still some pipes to be laid.
When the construction is finished, and we will be bound by further billion-dollar deals for many years, then we will finally give it to Putin straight: next time, you will really be in for it!

Η απόπειρα δηλητηρίασης του Ναβάλνι με το Novichok αποδείχθηκε από την έρευνα που πραγματοποίησαν οι καλύτεροι Ευρωπαίοι ειδικοί. Αυτό υποστηρίζεται από την επιστήμη, η οποία επαινείται τόσο πολύ στη σύγχρονη εποχή της πανδημίας. Και τώρα τι; Μετά την προσωρινή οργή: τίποτα.

Όταν ολοκληρωθεί η κατασκευή και δεσμευτούμε από περαιτέρω συμφωνίες δισεκατομμυρίων δολαρίων για πολλά χρόνια, τότε θα τα ψάλουμε ευθέως επιτέλους στον Πούτιν: την επόμενη φορά, θα δεις τι σε περιμένει!

Τι θα κάνει το Κρεμλίνο μόλις ο δημοσιογραφικός διαγωνισμός της Δύσης - για το ποιος είναι πιο εξοργισμένος για την κράτηση του Ναβάλνι - ολοκληρωθεί;

La forma en la que el Kremlin trata ahora a Alexei Navalni es importante. Pero más importante todavía es lo que le pase una vez terminada la competición en el periodismo occidental sobre quién expresa la mayor indignación por la detención del opositor más importante de Rusia

Este concurso consiste en gritar lo más alto posible que Vladimir Putin, el tipo de la KGB, el malvado zar o cualquier otro insulto fruto de las emociones, ha traspasado todos los límites y no puede ser perdonado.
Pero hasta ahora se le ha perdonado todo y no hay motivos para creer que esta vez será diferente. Lo único que tiene que hacer es esperar a que la tormenta amaine. El Kremlin ha sido perdonado por cometer asesinatos en los principales países occidentales. Se le perdonó el espectáculo asesino que implicaba el uso de armas químicas, a pesar de que la parte positiva del mismo, entiéndase la resurrección de Navalni, tuvo lugar en Berlín, la capital del país más importante de la Unión Europea, en un momento en que Alemania lideraba la comunidad.
Los servicios rusos quisieron matar a Navalny el verano pasado, y casi lo logran. Únicamente los conspiranoicos, tan denostados por la élite occidental, pueden aún afirmar que esto no es cierto. Or il a jusqu'à présent été pardonné à chaque fois et il n'y a aucune raison de croire que cette fois-ci sera différente. Il lui faut juste attendre, supporter l'indignation encore quelque temps. Le Kremlin a été pardonné pour avoir commis des meurtres dans plusieurs pays occidentaux. Il a été pardonné pour avoir donné un spectacle meurtrier impliquant le recours à armes chimiques. Même si, l'issue positive de ce spectacle - le réveil d'Alexeï Navalny - s'est déroulée à Berlin, la capitale du pays le plus important de l'Union européenne, que l'Allemagne présidait alors.
Les services russes voulaient tuer M. Navalny l'été dernier, et ils y sont presque parvenus. Seuls les théoriciens du complot, rarement suivis par l'élite occidentale, affirment encore le contraire, affirmant que cela ne peut pas être vrai, car notre partenaire, le Kremlin, ne déciderait pas une telle chose : la liquidation physique d'un adversaire politique majeur. Les recherches des meilleurs spécialistes européens ont pourtant prouvé la tentative d'empoisonnement d'Alexeï Navalny au Novitchok. La science, qui fait l'objet de tant d'éloges en cette période de pandémie, est venue l'étayer. Et maintenant ? Après le scandale, plus rien.
Le candidat de la CDU qui avait déclaré que la politique passée de bienveillance envers la Russie était une erreur (et qu'il fallait la changer) vient de perdre l'élection à la direction du plus important parti allemand. Selon lui, il fallait cesser de remplir les poches du Kremlin avec le gazoduc arrivant en Allemagne et cesser de soutenir les intérêts russes, contraires aux intérêts de l'Ouest. Mais il n'aura pas la possibilité de mettre ses idées en pratique.
Le dernier argument qui aurait pu faire mouche auprès du Kremlin - la perte de grandes sommes d'argent nécessaires à la poursuite d'objectifs incompatibles avec les valeurs occidentales - a été abandonné. Le Kremlin le sait très bien: il peut faire ce qu'il veut de l'opposant Navalny. Mais mieux vaut ne pas le faire maintenant, car le concours d'indignation n'est pas terminé. Et des tuyaux restent à poser (pour parachever le Nord Stream 2, ndlr).
Lorsque la construction du gazoduc sera terminée, et que nous serons liés par de nouveaux accords valant des milliards de dollars pendant de nombreuses années, alors nous n'irons pas par quatre chemins avec Vladimir Poutine : la prochaine fois, tu seras dans de beaux draps !

Alle wollen sich wieder gegenseitig übertreffen. Jeder möchte derjenige sein, der sich am lautesten empört, dass Putin – dieser KGB-Schurke, dieser böse Zar, oder welch andere Beleidigungen die überschäumenden Emotionen sonst hervorbringen – diesmal wirklich alle Grenzen überschritten hat und ihm nicht verziehen werden kann.
Aber bisher hat man ihm noch alles verziehen und es gibt keinen Anlass zu glauben, dass sich das jetzt ändern wird. Er muss nur abwarten und das Getöse eine Weile ertragen. Dem Kreml wurde verziehen, als er in den mächtigsten Ländern des Westens Morde in Auftrag gab. Ihm wurde sein mörderisches Spiel mit dem &nbsp;Nervengift verziehen, obwohl sich der positive Ausgang – die Auferstehung Nawalnys – in Berlin zutrug, der Hauptstadt des wichtigsten Landes der Europäischen Union, zu einer Zeit, als Deutschland die Ratspräsidentschaft innehatte.
Russische Geheimdienste wollten Nawalny im letzten Sommer umbringen, und es wäre ihnen fast gelungen. Nur Verschwörungsgläubige, die bei den westlichen Eliten für gewöhnlich keinen Respekt genießen, können immer noch behaupten, dass das nicht wahr sei. Dass es gar nicht wahr sein kann, denn schließlich würde unser Partner, der Kreml, doch nie das Unvorstellbare tun: einen wichtigen politischen Gegner physisch liquidieren. Die besten europäischen Spezialisten konnten nachweisen, dass versucht wurde, Nawalny mit dem Kampfstoff Nowitschok umzubringen. Die Wissenschaft, die während der Pandemie einen neuen gesellschaftlichen Stellenwert erfährt, stützte ihrerseits diese Ergebnisse. Und was passiert dann? Nach einer kurzen Phase der Empörung: gar nichts.
Der CDU-Politiker, der erklärt hatte, dass die gutmütige Politik gegenüber Russland ein Fehler sei (und sich deshalb umgehend ändern müsse), hat gerade die Wahl um den Vorsitz der wichtigsten deutschen Partei verloren. Er forderte, dass wir endlich aufhören sollten, dem Kreml die Taschen mit dem Geld aus der nach Deutschland führenden Gaspipeline vollzustopfen und aufhören sollten, russische Interessen zu unterstützen, die doch den Interessen des Westens zuwiderlaufen. Aber er wird nun nicht die Chance haben, solch eine politische Kehrtwende einzuleiten.
Das letzte Mittel, das Putin hätte beeindrucken können – Profite, die der Kreml braucht, um seine mit westlichen Werten unvereinbaren Ziele durchzusetzen – wurde aufgegeben. Der Kreml versteht also sehr gut: Er kann mit Nawalny machen, was er will. Aber es ist besser, nicht unbedingt jetzt etwas zu tun, denn das Empörungstheater läuft ja noch. Und solange noch die letzten Nordstream 2-Rohre verlegt werden müssen, ist es besser noch abzuwarten.&nbsp;
Wenn die Pipeline fertig ist, und wir damit für viele Jahre an weitere Milliardengeschäfte gebunden, dann reden wir mit Putin endlich mal Klartext: Das nächste Mal bist du wirklich dran!
